Rewinding old tapes: Modern Times

“Modern Times” is a serious social commentary in rather trivial frames of light comedy. Alike over sixty years ago – film is still relevant today and unless world changes drastically in the future – it will continue to be even more scary and less funny. Film essentially presents the story of a simple but extremely kind man caught in the traps of industrialized society. Despite Chaplin’s enormous success and wealth, he never forgot where he came from.

Rewinding old tapes: Mulholland Drive

After those few years after watching it for the first time, it’s now, when “Mulholland Drive” eventually elevated to my personal “best ever made” list. Clearly – it takes time.
